What exactly is ‘car diagnostics’?
Well, when you take you bring your car to use for a service, our mechanic will use a diagnostic tool to see if there are any problems recorded in the vehicles ECU (electronic control unit) Preforming a diagnostic test can reveal a range of problems associated with the cars transmission, engine faults, exhaust system and various other components of the car. Many modern cars come with a computer processors, microchips and sensors which can be linked to the diagnostic scanner at SR Motoring Services.
We can also run diagnostics tests for warning lights that may appear on your vehicle, such as engine management, ABS (anti-lock braking system) & air bag. Once we have retrieved the relivant fault codes, the process then is to carry out some component tests with a test light, multi meter or oscilloscope, to prove what part is faulty. You can be reassured that we only fit parts that are required to fix the fault.
We use a Snap-on Verdict diagnostics machine which has regular software updates to ensure we are always working with up to date technical data.
